After divorce, most men and women need to move on from pain as soon as possible, so they will often want to date, before they’re emotionally ready to do.

They might truly believe that they are ready to move on.  However in reality, they might not have absolutely dealt with their pain. It's not that they’re lying to you. It might just be that they’re in denial to move on and be truly happy again.

1. First, I could recommend that you should take things very slowly.  As above, many men may believe that they’re over their ex and ready to move on, but they’re in denial.

So, you could be cautious about how quickly of move on an emotion. If you find that you’re attracted to him, you might pull back a little bit and slow down.

This could be difficult but it may keep you from getting hurt as well.

2. You need to be aware that your man will likely continue to contact with his ex if they have children.  As long as the children are still young, your man will have to talk with his ex about their children.

If you’re the jealous type, this might not be the best situation for you.

Moreover to the jealousy issue, there’s also the most important issue of time. If you date a man who has children, he must have a lot of other responsibilities. Are you ok sharing him with his children?

3. In additional, do you even like children? If you don't, it is unlikely relationship won’t go anywhere. Before you get too deeply involved, be honest with yourself. If you are not, you will cause yourself and the new man more pain.

4. Finally, if you need to settle down, a newly divorced man might not be the option for you to date. Most divorced man may not want to rush t into a new relationship. They need to take the time, and it might be years to move on.
